I think there is a general perception that we just provide investment property opportunities, and while that is
right to an extent, we also help members with buying and selling advice, auction advice and negotiation services – all at discounted prices.
I can remember a couple of years ago my dad got a call from an ETU member who was an executor to his parents’ estate. It was a terrible mess after almost 12 months of trying to get a resolution – family ighting, lawyers at 10 paces, agents arguing – you
get the picture. I’m not sure why he even took it on, but he did. And while it took a couple of months to sort out and some “interesting” meetings and phone conversations the matter was inally resolved to everyone’s satisfaction. Not that we want to be doing that every day – but we’ll help out wherever we can. We’ve helped out hundreds of ETU members and hope we can continue to do so in the future.
A can you tell us why?
Well I guess that property has always been in my blood. My father has been in the business for over 30 years and I grew up
in a real estate household – the crazy hours, the highs and the lows.
It seems like an exciting and interesting lifestyle and whilst I really enjoyed my time as an electrician I have always wondered what it would be like in the property business.
Members Property is an ideal start for me as I understand the day-to-day challenges of the electrical trade and the need for inancial security. I also recently bought my irst home and having someone “on your side” to help you through the hoops of dealing with real estate agents made me realise that that is something I wanted to do.
