RUSSLER OUTLAW NITRO FUNNY CAR TEAM
The ETU proudly sponsored the Russler Outlaw Nitro Funny Car Team, which competed at Calder Park on 29 October last year.
Team Russler was the only Victorian team in a field of 10 Outlaw Nitro Funny Cars that competed in front of 10–15,000 spectators on the day! Each car is capable of producing 4,000 hp and reaching speeds of more than 400 km/h over a quarter mile!
Unfortunately, it didn’t prove to be Team Russler’s day, but after the rear end of the car kissed the wall on its second pass it made for exciting television viewing on 7mate and Fox Sports. ETU member Matt Potts has been a part of the team since it was formed four years ago and is very grateful for the community grant! n
Boolarra FNC acknowledges ETU partnership
The Boolarra Football Netball Club recently held its annual Sponsors Day and was proud to recognise the support provided by the ETU.
The Sponsors Day is an opportunity to thank the supporters of the club and demonstrate appreciation for the ongoing partnerships that are so important to the club.
Club president Russell McGlade said, ‘Boolarra is a small community on the outskirts of the Latrobe Valley and is home to many of our members, supporters and players that work in, and rely on, the power industry. The contribution made by the ETU assists
us greatly in many ways
such as providing resources to get our junior teams on
the ground each week. In
a small community such as Boolarra it’s not always easy to get the support that some of the bigger population centres have access to.’
Long-time player and ETU
member Ross Kelly said, ‘I am
really proud of the support the
ETU is able to provide to a small club like Boolarra. As an ETU member I appreciate the assistance the ETU is offering to the community in which I live.’

Sponsorship coordinator Darren Napier said, ‘The ETU have been strong supporters of the Boolarra FNC for some time now and we look forward to an ongoing relationship.’ n
