Carter Holt Harvey locks out 150 workers at Myrtleford ply wood plant
Multi-national timber industry giant, Carter Holt Harvey, has indefinitely locked out ETU members, CFMEU members, and AMWU members at the company's Myrtleford ply board manufacturing site. This lock out involves around 150 employees.
The lock out was implemented at 2.30am this morning. The lock out follows a break down in enterprise agreement negotiations between the company and unions. Union members are seeking improved income protection coverage insurance coverage and a significantly better wage increase than the company is offering.
Union members are determined to achieve a new Enterprise Agreement for the site that properly recognised their skills and contribution that has made the Myrtleford site a productive and profitable operation.
