APPRENTICES > AWARDS RESULTS
The ETU attends many apprentice functions and awards nights across the state of Victoria.

wards functions are important
for networking purposes and to expose all electrical
students to the ETU and explain all that we do. These events are attended by mostly industry players, the award recipients, the nominees and their families.
The ETU is either one of the major sponsors of the evening or at least sponsor some speciic categories.
In the recent awards nights ETU apprentices were well represented as not only nominees but most being awarded the major prizes.
ETU Apprentices Oicer Omar Merhi usually presents these awards to the winner as well as giving a speech about the importance of recognising all the nominees and the winning students. Other ETU oicials have also attended some of these events over a number of years.

THE STATE
While these events are always held at night, Omar wouldn’t miss one for the world. They are important events.
“To see apprentices well dressed and on their best manners is great,” laughs Omar. “These evenings showcase the information that TAFEs deliver
and give the ETU the opportunity to reward
and recognise those apprentices who excel in their chosen trade.”
It is vital that the ETU continues to sponsor these awards and
at diferent campuses across
the state. Our apprentices
are the future of our trade and the movement and we hope to remain sponsors of these
valued events for a long time. n
